12/19/2007 - Macadam Winter Garden Opens

A new spot to take a lunch-break and enjoy nature is now open in Tukwila. The ceremonial_ribbon_cutting took place to officially open the 1-acre Macadam Winter Garden. This park sits seconds away from Interstate 5, along 144th Street. Lead designer Michael_Brown lead this project from proposal, all the way to today's opening. The garden features a series of 'rooms' connected by winding pathways. Each area has a distinct character, with plants of similar fragrances, colors and textures. Elements of Spring, Summer and Fall are present to round out this four-season, cornerside garden.

11/09/2007 - JBDG Solar is officially online

Nearly a year in process, the JBDG,_Inc._10kw_solar_project is now complete. There are still a few bugs to work out with billing from Seattle City Light, but the self-funded project is now generating electricity onsite and feeding excess electrical power back into the grid. The panels will generate roughly 10 megawatt-hours annually, enough energy to cover the needs of two households each year. This is just one of several_on-site_projects we are using to learn more about emerging technologies with our own laboratory to test results first-hand.

8/28/2007 - Marriott Residence Inn - Sacramento opens

tabletOur first large-scale full design project (Architecture, Landscape, Interior Design) officially opens it's doors in Sacramento. This project is also historic, in that it is the first tribally owned hotel to open outside a reservation in California. It's the second hotel in the nation to do so. The 15 story hotel, located right next to California's capitol building has the top three floors dedicated to solely condominiums. Here's a local_news_story covering the historic event.

5/21/2007 - Tablet PC testing

tabletWhile this isn't exactly breaking news, Tablet PC's are making a strong surge back onto the market. Being that we're always up-to-speed on all the latest technology, these portable PC's already have quite a history at JBDG, inc. Before Microsoft rolled out their technology, they enlisted us to test_out_tablets in the workplace. We currently use several tablets in the day-to-day operations, and are looking to expand their use even more.

8/28/2006 - Sound Transit Gantry Tour

High Atop The Railway Another day brings another gantry move over our building. This should be the last time we'll have to leave our offices during the day. SoundTransit was nice enough to offer our architects a close up look at the inner workings of this complicated project. We were allowed access in places that very few people will ever see. Take a look at the pictures and see the fun that we had wearing our hardhats. Pic 1, Pic 2, Pic 3, Pic 4, Pic 5, Pic 6, Pic 7, Pic 8

We also taped a two day time-lapse of the work along side of our building. Watch this_video to see the view we have outside of our windows.

8/24/2006 - Sound Transit Shakeup

Watchout BelowSoundTransit is currently putting in a new light rail line from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to downtown Seattle. The route of the construction project goes right though JBDG, Inc's property. On Thursday, the office had to be temporarily vacated so a 300 foot construction gantry for the elevated part of the railway could swing over our building. Take a look at the pictures taken during our 'evacuation' to get a good look at this amazing operation.
